While you're glossing over the problem, attack it at the root with perhaps the single most effective under-eye patch we've yet to try, Shiseido's Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Eye Mask. Retinol, Vitamin C, Ginseng and Hesperedin literally erase wrinkles (for a day or two, at least). When we tested these, after we did a happy dance, we started looking over our shoulder to make sure no one would steal our box. In Japan, they moved 300,000 units in the first month. Available in New York at Saks Fifth Avenue, 212-753-4000. Commence hoarding.

Since BD suffers from the worst kind of insomnia, bedtime represents a chamber of horrors rather than a respite from the trials of the day. Thus we ask that our night cream at least provide some comfort. Swanky Swiss company Juvena's creamy new Juvedical Renewing Night Cream ($85) did just that while its burn-healing biopolymers got to work boosting healthy cell production. Not that we felt it going on; we just arose in the morning and our skin looked better. End of story. At Henri Bendel, 212-247-1100.

It sounds good enough to eat, but please, just smell Sundari's new Gulkand soy candle ($34). Scented with rose petals, honey and a splash of milk, it's also supposed to help "open the heart and reduce fire." How one reduces fire with a candle is a little beyond us, but oh how we love the fragrance. (And the soy wax means no wall-staining soot.) At Jeffrey, 212-206-1272 x220.

Here's what we want in a gloss: something shiny, that stays put (for a glosslet's be realistic), and that won't suck all the natural moisture out of our lips. Perhaps a this-second color wouldn't hurt. It should not be rocket science to satisfy these demands and yet in our search for perfection, we keep moving on. Trish McEvoy's Spring Glosses have sated our wanderlust, especially Tropical Nude, a gentle coral-peach with just enough color to pop. At Sephora stores worldwide.

Hinterview Fabien Baron—graphics guru, branding visionary, multitasking myth-maker—can do more in 15 minutes than just about anyone. So it was no great surprise when news spread earlier this year that he'd been named editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview. At his new West Village digs, he opened up to Hint about everything from his redesign of the magazine to his designs on the White House.
Shoptart You might think, given his collaboration with leather-goods house Schott, that Jeremy Scott is going butch. After all, Schott created the biker jackets worn by Marlon Brando and James Dean. But no, that manly legacy is given a swishy twist, like this rococo tea print of treasure trolls in pastoral repose. Also this month: Marni, Stella McCartney, Tom Binns and more. |
