You owe it to yourself to look good

As a bona fide albinette with an unquenchable desire to bake in the Mediterranean sun, BD has sampled more than a few self-tanners. Many have their benefits, but only Lancome's Flash Bronzer Airbrush combines a fine-misting spray that dispenses evenly at weird angles, a non-Donatella-ish natural color, a little bit of luminescence and a dash of alpha hydroxy acid. That AHA exfoliation means the stuff goes on less splotchily and wears off smoothly, too. No scales, no patches, no spots, at Lancome.

We like a blemish cream with salicylic and glycolic acids. We love one with antibacterial tea tree oil, rosemary and burdock. We gush further over one with natural antibiotic propolis. But what sends us thoroughly around the bend is all of the above plus a shot of green-sheen minerals to diffuse the redness that so joylessly accompanies a giant zit. Thank you, Natura Bisse, for your Special FX Blemish Focus, our unguent version of Mr. Right. Available at Neiman Marcus.

There we were, pining for a body lotion with some shine to make our ashy legs look glowy without using sticky silicone. Little did we know that in a small kitchen in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a lady named Kathleen Lewis was cooking up batches of all-natural salves that smell great and make your skin sparkle. The press has gone mad for her Rose Dream Cream (she has eight scent categories) but we're even more insane for the Narcissus Body Lotion, which is a little easier to apply to as large a surface as, say, our thighs. At Pharma, 212-505-3505.

Not that we don't love a certain French company's cult-famous anti-wrinkle, anti-aging 30 SPF face cream, but its triple-digit price tag is a bit daunting. A smoother, creamier, more fragrant option is Decleor's Aroma Sun Protective Anti-Wrinkle Cream. The technology is different (jasmine and malt extracts; a pro-pigmentation botanical cocktail) as is your bottom line, thank god, but the high protection (it's got 30 SPF), face-friendliness and matte effect are the same.

It's supposed to be for the men folk, but that's not stopping us from slathering Billy Jealousy's Ocean Front Body Wash all over ourselves in the shower. The blue goo is gentle but exfoliating, cuts through whatever grease you can throw at it, and smells fresh but not too cologne-y. Plus the butch tattoo design on the bottle may be the closet we get to action these days. At Barneys New York, 212-826-8900.

Fabien Baron—graphics guru, branding visionary, multitasking myth-maker—can do more in 15 minutes than just about anyone. So it was no great surprise when news spread earlier this year that he'd been named editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview. At his new West Village digs, he opened up to Hint about everything from his redesign of the magazine to his designs on the White House.

01, 22, 16. Nope, it’s not bingo night; it's the numerical filing system at Maison Martin Margiela. Adding to the mathematical fun is a new line of fine jewelry in absurdist proportions and scale. Also this month: Comme de Garçons for H&M, Louis Vuitton and more. By Franklin Melendez

"Madonna starves herself on a raw macrobiotic kosher vegan kaballah diet and works out three hours a day to maintain the physique of a 12-year-old gymnast boy, and then has the cheeks of a 300-pound woman implanted into her face. And her forehead is like a plastic baby's bottom. It's like Nicole Kidman's forehead at the height of her botox addiction, and we all remember how unfortunate that era was."
