You owe it to yourself to look good

We're not quite sure what it means to smell like a revolutionary, but in the mind of Rei Kawakubo, it's fresh. Perhaps this is because the Japanese were usually on the other end of a guerrilla gun, and so the intricacies of that sans-shower scent escaped them. Regardless, the first two eau de toilettes in a new series "based on the world of Comme des Garçons," Guerrilla 1 and Guerrilla 2 ($98 each), are delicate. They share a light vetiver and cedarwood base, then 1 goes fruity (pear, cloves, saffron) while 2 goes hot (ginger, pink pepper, red pepper). Both fade like a splash rather than a perfume. Since they're an ode to CDG's temporary Guerrilla stores rather than Che Guevara after a week in the mountains, perhaps that is apt. Available at CDG stores worldwide and Luckyscent.com.

It's very hard to convince us that toners are a necessary step, but groovy Australian cult brand Korner Skincare has cooked up a very soothing broth called Be Tender and we must admit, we feel a lot more cared for after using it than when we skip. It's not an astringent, but a sort of a viscous cocktail that plumps and softens. In honor of the Mexican Smithsonite that is one of the minerals in the stuff, like the guys who mow your lawn and ladies who take care of your kids, we're saying: try going a day without this toner and see what happens. In our capacity as beauty writer chick at large, BD just had a little chat with Anna Sui, and were impressed by one of her mandates: wear more blush. To help us all achieve that ersatz veneer of health, her spring collection includes some magnificently soft, very cheeky cheek colors. We palefaces are especially flattered by the violet-pinky 302, but Sui herself is a fan of sheer, true-red 400. In New York at Anna Sui, 113 Greene St., 212-941-8406.

All the talk of botanical-this and peptide-that is enough to leave a girl drowning in incredulous lab claims when all she really wants is relief from the dark circles and protruding undereye bags that make her look like a 19th century Russian novelist. So we're putting down that info sheet on Talika's Eye Contour Gel and simply looking in the mirror. Who cares what a bunch of French chemists have been up to for the last several years? The stuff works, and that's all you need to know.

Imagine how we suffer, gentle readers, having to schlep around giant tubs of conditioning masques on trip after trip because our hair is so fried. When we're done, there's hardly any room left for luxury accessories or ample bottles of the native hooch. So blessed be a new company called Beauty ID, which has created single-portion envelopes of a very good conditioner, with olive oil, lemon extract and collagen. No longer must our purchases take precedence over our hair. And since we shop more when we feel better, Beauty ID may have helped revive local economies across the globe—not to mention stimulate local citizens with our much cuter hair.

Fabien Baron—graphics guru, branding visionary, multitasking myth-maker—can do more in 15 minutes than just about anyone. So it was no great surprise when news spread earlier this year that he'd been named editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview. At his new West Village digs, he opened up to Hint about everything from his redesign of the magazine to his designs on the White House.

You might think, given his collaboration with leather-goods house Schott, that Jeremy Scott is going butch. After all, Schott created the biker jackets worn by Marlon Brando and James Dean. But no, that manly legacy is given a swishy twist, like this rococo tea print of treasure trolls in pastoral repose. Also this month: Marni, Stella McCartney, Tom Binns and more.
