You owe it to yourself to look good

It's not just our progressive gender stance. BD loves a unisex fragrance because cloying sweet anything is just unsophisticated, not to mention unfair to your fellow olfactory-equipped humans. So we're glad to welcome the latest in the non-gendered Costume National fragrance family, Sheer—a crisp, citrus-infused Eau Fraiche with a little bit of woody, smoky Jasmine tea for a touch of mood. After all, nobody likes a perky perfume. Available at Barneys.com.

Though their preggers spokesmodel Liv Tyler is growing larger every day, Givenchy's just-launched Le Makeup line is moving in the opposite direction. Goodies galore await among the compact compacts, but our favorite would have to be the Extreme Lip Lip Lip! Lipstick. With giant pigment in a wee package, the colors go on bright but quickly mellow into a classic feather-weight, moisturizing satin. The extra dash of lilac in the Evening Pink shade looks new to BD, who has seen its fair share of pink lipsticks. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, 212-940-2660, and Beverly Hills, 310-887-5416.

Another launch to know about if you're a problem skin type (who isn't?) is 3Lab. Although we usually need nuke-strength tough love, sometimes we prefer a milder kind of clinical-chic—and now we have it. Perfect Cleansing Emulsion, a light, skin-friendly lotion cleanser is well-named: the pump dispenser is clean, a little goes a long way, and the option to wipe or wash off makes it a go-to choice for those nights when passing out on the couch is more viable than going to the sink.

If you haven't yet taken a side in the still-raging war between celebrity blight Jennifer Lopez and her just-canned makeup artist Scott Barnes, this may help you make up your mind. Before things went south, Barnes cashed in on the splash he made with those fox fur false lashes he put on the diva two Oscars ago by making a synthetic version, called Falsettos. They're Liza-with-a-Z-long but more natural-looking, as the hair is grouped in clumps. Available in October at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

Though it lasts only two or three days as opposed to the four or five of our other favorite self-tanners—Phytomer, Clarins, Neutrogena—it's the color of St. Tropez we're so nuts about. There's not a hint of orange in this chocolate brown goop, favored, we've just learned, by the melanin-challenged Windsors, who fake bake at Buckingham Palace. And because the cream has a surface color before it sets, you can see instantly if you're heading into streak territory (no wonder Wills always looks so hot). Bonus: St. Tropez makes a self-tanner remover that comes in mini-towelettes.

Fabien Baron—graphics guru, branding visionary, multitasking myth-maker—can do more in 15 minutes than just about anyone. So it was no great surprise when news spread earlier this year that he'd been named editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview. At his new West Village digs, he opened up to Hint about everything from his redesign of the magazine to his designs on the White House.

01, 22, 16. Nope, it’s not bingo night; it's the numerical filing system at Maison Martin Margiela. Adding to the mathematical fun is a new line of fine jewelry in absurdist proportions and scale. Also this month: Comme de Garçons for H&M, Louis Vuitton and more. By Franklin Melendez
