You owe it to yourself to look good

We have to admit we've blown off Clinique in the past. The products are fine quality but we just couldn't get behind the brand image: starter makeup for your inner student body president. This fall's new Blushing Blush has us convinced the cool girls have taken over. Ten shades of blendable, bright color (see Sunset Glow here) comes packaged with a contour brush and a positively mod mirrored case.

Finally, a hand cream tough enough for a WW2 U-Boat crew, made by a Polish company that also sells a feminine wash. And its key ingredient is goat milk. You would never know it to smell it (thank god), and behold the benefits: Ziaja's Goat's Milk Hand & Nail cream absorbs brilliantly, protects your mitts without the greasiness that leaves you afraid to touch your peasant blouse, and will not make you grow a mustache.

Rounding out this month's ode to domesticated livestock, another brilliant moisturizer we're happy to trot out is Piaffe's Velvet Body Cream, which contains soothers like chamomile and shea butter, caffeine to tone and horse chestnut to boost micro-circulation. The three scents—Lemon Verbena, White Lilac and Horse Chestnut (which smells floral, not equine)—are as delicate as the texture. $52 at Blissspa.com.

Yes, summer's over but your commitment to sunscreen had better not be. Innovative Skincare's feather-light new SPF 20 Moisturizing Sunscreen makes it easy to remain faithful. It's broad spectrum but feels like a fast-absorbing moisturizer, has no trace of the annoying "summer!" smell that plagues most other sunscreens, and its transparent zinc oxide is actually transparent. Anti-oxidants help heal existing sun damage, and it even comes packaged in individual foil packets to keep the active ingredients fresh. $33-$42 at Isclinical.com.

Finding a facial cleanser that gets the spackle off your face without stripping it entirely is no mean feat. A very soothing option comes from a new offshoot of the fifty-year-old line by French facialist Ingrid Millet, Source Pure Aroma Foaming Gel. Coconut oil-based, it foams lightly and cleans thoroughly without dehydrating (888-566-8214). The astringent agents are not alcohol-based, but essential oils like lemon, menthol and geranium. We're still having a hard time believing an old French woman who digs out pores for a living could be the source of all this gentleness, but we'll surely come around soon.

Fabien Baron—graphics guru, branding visionary, multitasking myth-maker—can do more in 15 minutes than just about anyone. So it was no great surprise when news spread earlier this year that he'd been named editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview. At his new West Village digs, he opened up to Hint about everything from his redesign of the magazine to his designs on the White House.

01, 22, 16. Nope, it’s not bingo night; it's the numerical filing system at Maison Martin Margiela. Adding to the mathematical fun is a new line of fine jewelry in absurdist proportions and scale. Also this month: Comme de Garçons for H&M, Louis Vuitton and more. By Franklin Melendez
