Hooked: BLK DNM

Taking a cue from Hedi Slimane, Johan Lindeberg has taken up photography for his one-year-old BLK DNM label. Here he's shot fellow Swede Dorothea Barth Jorgensen sporting a new line of eight high-end biker jackets. In textured leather and shearling fur, each piece is hand-stitched in New York. By special order at BLK DNM, 237 Lafayette Avenue, NYC.

Basso & Brooke for the Cambridge Satchel Company

Hooked: Basso & Brooke for the Cambridge Satchel Company

Have you heard? Prints are in! Heaps of them, mashed up and piled high—as if you needed another reason to nab one of these crazy bags in collaboration between London-based print masters Basso & Brooke and the Cambridge Satchel Company. You may recall, CSC collaborated with Comme des Garçons last year, but those, while Comme, are pretty tame compared to these wild things. Each digitally printed leather bag is limited to 100 pieces and guaranteed to arrive by Christmas.

£145-218, available for pre-order at Basso & Brooke

Chanel

Hooked: Chanel Miniature Hula Hoop Bag

You can't hula-hoop with it, unless you're Barneys' Minnie Mouse, but you'll be able to dig out your phone a lot easier with this miniature hoop bag from Chanel's spring 2013 collection. Karl Lagerfeld explained that the larger version, while assumed to be a showpiece only, will indeed be produced because of its real-world application: sticking it in sand at the beach and throwing your towel over it to dry. So maybe the smaller bag—only 24 inches in diameter—could double as a dish rack. After all, at $2,400, it's about half the price of Chanel's classic 2.55 quilted bag.

Jeremy Scott Monster scarf

Hooked: Jeremy Scott Monster Scarf

If you're voting in a swing state on Tuesday, where early voting lines are already several hours long, you'll be standing in the cold for, like, ever. Why not stand out in this shaggy faux-fur pink Monster scarf by Jeremy Scott? We can't think of a better answer to those real-fur stoles with the fox head still attached. Ew.

Balenciaga Ultra High Boots

Hooked: Balenciaga Boots

Are you ready for lizard? Not real lizard, silly. Balenciaga's tall and pointy toed boots for fall begin at the knee with simple black leather. Then, around the foot, comes a khaki-colored leather block made to look like lizard skin, followed by a nice violet heel. Pop of color, pop of texture, pop of 80s. They'll go great with your heavy-metal Balenciaga sweatshirt.

Kusama Pumpkin Minaudière for Louis Vuitton

Hooked: Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin Minaudière for Louis Vuitton

Among the dotted delirium that is Marc Jacobs' collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton—think apparel, accessories, jewelry, even a chess set—who could have spotted this coming? In case it isn't immediately clear what you're looking at, let us explain. It's a minaudière in the shape of a pumpkin, covered with the artist's dots, and made from resin, metal and pure gold. Only five of the hefty jewel bags have been produced, handcrafted by Louis Vuitton artisans and billed as the showstopper of the collaboration, which it so obviously is.

Meadham Kirchhoff, fall 12

Hooked: Meadham Kirchhoff

Club Kids never die, they just fall in a K-hole. So it was only a matter of time before the Limelight look was revived on the runway. The English label Meadham Kirchhoff did just that for fall, blending in a little Studio 54 and Andy Warhol for good measure.

In the collection's haute-kitsch explosion of tinsel, sequins, glitter-dusted platform shoes, leopard-print panties, and intergalactic make-up, it would have been easy to miss several fur jackets, not unlike that other club staple: chubbies. We're talking faux fur, of course, but not the cheap stuff that falls off in clumps like a rainbow on chemo. The expense comes from the labor involved in cobbling a bunch of pieces together to create, for example, this angry, pointy toothed monster.

Alexander McQueen Cicada clutch

Hooked: Alexander McQueen Cicada Clutch

Who's afraid of gruesome displays of insect-cum-human dysmorphia? Not Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The (latest) proof: this jewel-studded skull sitting atop a set of cicada wings sitting atop a knuckleduster sitting atop a gold python clutch. The somewhat disturbing transmutation is a little Spiderman, a little Silence of the Lambs, and all McQueen.

$2725 (aubergine suede) or $3195 (gold python) exclusively at Alexander McQueen stores and online

Is there a doctor in the house? Yes, at the house of Prada, where the new Doctor bag will see you now. Say ahhhh!

$1995 exclusively at Prada boutiques in London, Milan and Paris. And actually, it will arrive in New York in late September
