Raf Simons for Adidas

Hooked: Raf Simons for Adidas

The colorful running shoes Raf Simons showed at his fall 2013 men's collection, in collaboration with Adidas, are hitting store shows — not a moment too soon for those wanting to get a jump on the shock-bright sneaker craze. For a little while now, the designer — who moonlights as Dior's creative director — has been pushing near-neon shades. In fact he's credited for bringing color back to fashion's drab landscape with his Jil Sander collections a few years ago. Five ergonomic models in three color combinations translate to a rainbow of options. Some even have multicolored silicone bubbles, for extra pop.

Mary Katrantzou for Repetto

Hooked: Mary Katrantzou for Repetto

Repetto, the French maker of ballerina flats favored by the carefree likes of Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg, has collaborated with London-based prodigy of prints Mary Katrantzou on a women's shoe capsule for Colette. The classic flat makes an appearance, of course, as does a lace-up derby style — in colorful, poetic prints recalling Mary's fall 2013 collection.

€295 (flats) - €395 (derbies) at Colette

Craig & Karl for MCM

Hooked: Craig & Karl for MCM

Take the art duo of Craig & Karl, put their playful illustrations on a range of bags from the German leather-goods label MCM, sprinkle in a slight resemblance to Takashi Murakami's collaboration with Louis Vuitton, heat on high for a bit, and you have pop luxury perfection.

Dior

Hooked: Dior Sunglasses

Cicadas have nothing on these buzzy sunglasses from Dior. Part of the fall collection, inspired by pop art and surrealism, the giant wing-like lenses — that could double as a Daft Punk helmet — harken back to Raf Simons' edgier past, yet have a future on front rows and album covers everywhere.

Hooked: Givenchy Watches

Riccardo Tisci's lucky number is 17. We know this because the auspicious number is the name of his new and first Givenchy watch collection, Seventeen. The timepieces' combination of bold lines and curved edges make them a unisex watch, while their stainless steel and gold plated details give them a retro look. They could be your grandpa's watch, were it not for the dials in sporty colors.

Exclusively at select specialty stores and Givenchy shops worldwide

Lanvin men's sandals

Hooked: Lanvin Men's Sandals

There's a reason why Birkenstocks are so comfortable, and there's a reason why they get a bad style rap. Lanvin has blended the best of both in their new men's lug sole sandals. Ideal for spring and summer (the only time sandals actually look good on a man), the Flintstones-like footwear comes in a choice of black or white leather with various pops of color and snakeskin detailing. Just don't call them Birkies.

Comme des Garçons PLAY for Converse Pro Leather

Hooked: Comme des Garçons PLAY for Converse Pro Leather

Converse, the shoe made for playing, has collaborated with Comme des Garçons PLAY, the label made for playing, to create four styles of the Converse Pro Leather sneaker. The court shoe that debuted in 1976 and evolved into an iconic lifestyle sneaker has evolved again, courtesy of Rei Kawakubo, to feature PLAY’s signature quirky heart-with-eyes logo placed randomly, ensuring uniqueness.

$130-140 at the Dover Street Market website (May 28), the Comme des Garçons store in NYC (May 28), Paris and London (June 1), Tokyo and throughout Asia (June 21)

Céline fur heels

Hooked: Céline Fur Heels

Mukluks have nothing on Phoebe Philo's spring heels for Céline. You know the age of the reptilian shoe is over when you're slipping your feet into a bed of mink, like something out of a Flintstones' Easter egg hunt. And no matter how bizarre they are or how much of a toy they must look like to cats, they're the very height of luxury. Bonus: never again will you have pinched toes.

Around $5,000 at Céline stores

Miu Miu Rasoir sunglasses

Hooked: Miu Miu Rasoir Sunglasses

Like a cut-off tee for the eyes, these Miu Miu sunglasses all but guarantee long gawking from strangers. At first glance, the various sunnies in the spring capsule collection resemble regular cat-eyes, but with one key difference: they've been truncated, as if with a razor. Hence the name, Rasoir. Available in various combinations of black, white, pink, and tortoiseshell.

$320-355 at Miu Miu stores worldwide
