With the launch of Google Sky, it's fitting of futurist Raf Simons to debut sunglasses in his spring men's collection—which he said was all about exploration. He meant it in the step-away-from-Wii-and-see-the-world way, which we can appreciate, but we're just too glued to the Internet. (Does that make us Gluegled?)
Lowdown: Made in collaboration with Linda Farrow Vintage.
Price: $300 for acetate rims, $325 for aluminium
At: (in December) Seven and Barneys in NYC, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Colette in Paris and Dover Street Market in London.

Ask not what gives you acne, but what Acne Jeans can give you. Like the extra warm hands you'll have when you dip your fingers into the sorbet-colored neoprene gloves whipped up by the Swedish label for fall.
Lowdown: The fit is snug (think scuba diving); the pink-orange color combo is women's, black-blue is mens.
Price: $149
At: Opening Ceremony in New York (35 Howard Street, 212-219-2688) and select Acne Jeans stores worldwide.

Anyone who thinks bow ties are the exclusive domain of tuxedoes and pasta should take a gander at Alexis Mabille's confectionary creations for his Treizeor label (the accessories arm of his Impasse 13 unisex clothing line). It's no wonder the neckwear—which ranges from denim to silver mesh, with things dangling throughout—has a fan in Karl Lagerfeld.
Lowdown: All handmade; Mabille is a ten-year veteran of Dior.
Price: $160 - $2000
At: Henri Bendel and Kirna Zabête in New York, Colette in Paris and Dover Street Market in London.

Why lug around a boring black briefcase—or any briefcase—when you can scoot around town with this 60s-inspired white satchel by Costume National slung jauntily over your shoulder? As they say, Italians do it better. (Or is it just Italians who say that?)
Lowdown: Available in black or white leather.
Price: $1423
At: 108 Wooster Street in New York (212-431-1530) and other Costume National stores.

Don't let the down-home look of Woolrich Woolen Mills pull the wool over your eyes. The 175-year-old American outerwear brand recently tapped Japanese-born, New York-based Daiki Suzuki, of Engineered Garments, to update its image. Meaning, among classic hunting hats and jackets, you'll find playful plaids—Burberry-style—like this fringed tie.
Lowdown: The label's signature is the red-and-black plaid, known as the Pennsylvania Tuxedo.
Price: $70 (hat), $100 (tie)
At: Bergdorf Goodman, 754 5th Ave, New York, 212-753-7300

Hint Shop If Rad Hourani were writing this blurb, it would be over already. That's because, for the soon-to-explode French-Canadian designer, it's all about extreme minimalism. Thus, the concept behind this one-size-fits-all, unisex, sleeveless T-shirt—printed with the dates and times of a calendar—is that it can be worn by anyone, anytime. |
