Five things we're Jonesing for—right now
Photos by Stuart Heir

Calvin Klein
One small step for wedges, one giant leap for Calvin Klein. These sculptural yet futuristic platform boots with a lightweight wood heel—a departure for the label—will have you doing the moonwalk.
Lowdown: Goat nappa leather in lunar gray, indigo or white, featuring a center seam up the front and piped top edge; also available as croc slingbacks.
Price: $650 (though on sale now for $390!)
At: Calvin Klein, 654 Madison Ave., NYC, 212-292-9000

Paule Ka
Sadly, Segolene Royal lost the French elections. But at least she looked great doing it in her favorite label, Paule Ka, designed by French-Brazilian Serge Cajfinger, who, like the progressive politicienne, rocked the boat for his nautical-inspired spring collection. This jumbo bag—a cross between a backpack and a duffel—gets our vote.
Lowdown: Made of clear plastic, silver leather and rope; also comes in a smaller size.
Price: $825 large/$525 small
At: Check website for locations.

Yohji Yamamoto
With a nose for visual puns and extremes in scale, Yohji Yamamoto riffs on both rockabilly and The Godfather to create these freakishly large and pointy men's shoes. Except, at Japanese prices, he's not clowning around.
Lowdown: Available as black-and-white lace-ups seen here, or wingtips in black or silver leather.
Price: $830
At: Yohji Yamamoto, 103 Grand St., NYC, 212-966-9066, and Maxfield, 8825 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, 310-274-8800

Duckie Brown
Let the thieves have your steal-me black computer case, in all its bulky blandness, and reboot your portable style with this handmade briefcase from Duckie Brown, complete with pockets for your laptop, cell phone and other travel essentials. Its alarming orangeness will scare off even the most daring of snatchers.
Lowdown: Handmade from leather and canvas, snaps closed with a cock-and-crown logo buckle; shoulder strap included.
Price: $2500
At: Special order through the website.

Nike
Leave it to Junya Watanabe to conceptualize a classic. When the designer wanted vintage sneakers for his spring men's collection, he called on Nike to recreate six styles from its iconic '70s Running collection, but produced as if they'd seen thirty years of wear and tear—stained laces and all.
Lowdown: Engineered to the original specifications, down to the exact same topstitching; retro details include the 70's Nike logo in block caps; either padded nylon or mesh tops.
Price: $220
At: Comme des Garçons stores worldwide.

  Hint Shop
If Rad Hourani were writing this blurb, it would be over already. That's because, for the soon-to-explode French-Canadian designer, it's all about extreme minimalism. Thus, the concept behind this one-size-fits-all, unisex, sleeveless T-shirt—printed with the dates and times of a calendar—is that it can be worn by anyone, anytime.
