The art of parties and beyond

Mick Rock
Mar. 24, 2005: L.A.'s hipster pack fled to Kelly Cole's Lo Fi Gallery on Thursday night for the first full-scale photo exhibit of the legendary rock photographer Mick Rock. Hosted by Steven Jones, Norman Reedus, Drea de Matteo, stylist Arianne Phillips, Brody Dalle and L.A.'s own rock legend Rodney Bingenheimer, the rock-ous party, sponsored by DKNY Jeans, lasted into the wee hours, with Mick snapping away all the while. Other guests included Marilyn Manson and striptease artist Dita von Teese, Jeremy Scott and Bernhard Willhelm, Vincent "I think the media is evil" Gallo, the twice thrown-out Andy Dick, and actresses Joy Bryant and Paz de la Huerta. The buzz for the evening? How to score one of the rare Bowie prints that made Rock (Mick, that is) famous.
