The biggest thing to come out of Maryland since Ricki Lake, Amy Nemec had an outstanding show season, having walked for Alexander McQueen, Antonio Berardi, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Jeremy Scott and Balenciaga. Currently the face of Alain Mikli's new campaign, Amy also recently scored the Moschino campaign, shot by Satoshi Saikusa.

This girl is born to model. Possessed of one of the most striking looks of the moment, Ninja Sarasalo hails from frosty Finland and her stare can definitely freeze the air around her. Fashion-forward Euro label Plein Sud have used her as their mannequin du jour. Also look out for Ninja in the Moschino campaign.

Brandon Merrill is a Native American from  Wyoming. Her distinctive exotic features have already been captured by the likes of heavyweights Kelly Klein, Walter Chin and Craig McDean for Italian Vogue, W and other fashion bibles. At 5'11", Brandon certainly stands out in a crowd.

With her Picassoesque angles, it's little wonder that Cristen Elmore was dubbed Etee (E.T., get it?) when she was first scouted for Irene Marie Models by photographer Tony Duran. The extra-terrestrial moniker was ditched when she proved the naysayers wrong by switching to powerhouse IMG, where her alien-like features are in demand. She has appeared in Mademoiselle and Australian Harper's Bazaar.

Aussie Eurasian babe Siew Longhorn is rumoured to be the new face of Tommy Hilfiger. Since moving Stateside Siew has appeared in everything from Paper to WWD and in campaigns for Calvin Klein Jeans and  Bazaar de Christian Lacroix. Watch the thunder from Down Under create a storm this year.

Model of the moment Elisabet Davidsdottir is no overnight sensation, having got her first taste of the biz when she was a finalist in Ford's Supermodel of the World contest back in 1994. She is currently the face of Mulberry, Chanel's Allure fragrance and Armani Exchange.
