We're crazy in love with these new faces
By Joseph Tenni

Nika L
Competitive swimmer and water polo player Nika L. is making quite the splash. The Chicago-raised Cancerian has just shot an Abercrombie & Fitch campaign with Bruce Weber and the Calvin Klein look book for spring. You'll flipper for Nika soon, too.

Liu Dan
Fast becoming a recognizable face in her native China, Beijing belle Liu Dan has clocked several appearances in Chinese Vogue, not to mention Italian and French Vogue, as well as Hong Kong, Chinese and French Elle. If this is what globalization means, count us in.

Cierra Jonasson
Canadian cutie Cierra Jonasson comes from Mode Models in Calgary, home to former Model Mania stars Heather Marks and Julia Dunstall. We think the vivacious Virgo looks a lot like Juliette Lewis, though she tells us she modeled her coy coif after Cindy Sherman. A stand-out either way in our book.

Mallory June
Named after the sister from the TV show Family Ties, who coincidentally studied fashion, Mallory June is getting her share of props. The willowy teen's credits include Spanish Vogue, French Marie Claire and French magazine. American of Dutch descent, Mallory also scored as the new face of Azzaro fragrance. Keep your eyes on this rising star.

Ali Michael
Hailing from the Lone Star state, Dallas cowgirl Ali Michael just wrapped two stories for Teen Vogue, one with Thomas Schenk and the other with Arthur Elgort, in addition to posing for Italian Elle. The horse-riding Taurean is off to a galloping start, and that's no bull.

Valeria Garcia
Soon to be South America's biggest export, Valeria Garcia has appeared in i-D, Dazed & Confused, British Vogue, Chinese Vogue, British Harper’s Bazaar and French magazine. She also filled her wallet with the cash she made from Valentino Red and Top Shop campaigns. Seems there's no currency problem for this lean, teen Argentine.

Damaris Lewis
Although no relation to Carl, Damaris Lewis is sprinting to the top. The Libran from Brooklyn has appeared in French Vogue and V magazine, as well as campaigns for Benetton and Yves Saint Laurent. A dance major at LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, which was the setting for the film Fame, Damaris knows all the right moves.

  Hint Shop
If Rad Hourani were writing this blurb, it would be over already. That's because, for the soon-to-explode French-Canadian designer, it's all about extreme minimalism. Thus, the concept behind this one-size-fits-all, unisex, sleeveless T-shirt—printed with the dates and times of a calendar—is that it can be worn by anyone, anytime.

 Shoptart
While the launch of Rick Owens' London store has been pushed back, we can report the space will be just as dark and macabre as you could want, with a few added touches alluding to the British Empire’s wicked history—like this sculpture of his head on a platter. Also this month: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Heartless, Prada and more..
