Victoria Bartlett did her Victoria Bartlett thing: complexifying what would otherwise be pretty simple silhouettes and materials, manifesting something special out of what might seem ordinary: dropped waists, square necks, cyber-apron dresses and ruching, ruching, ruching. Her spring collection, titled Atlas of Anatomy, for VPL had a lot of her familiar patterns, as well as fascia and natural bone structures, apparently influenced by Body Worlds, the dissection-as-art exhibit by anatomist Gunther von Hagens. Thankfully, the models here looked alive.
