We hear that for Rodarte’s next effort, shot earlier this week, the Pasadena-based duo has enlisted none other than photography all-star Catherine Opie. Best known for her stark documentary portraits of surfers, high school footballers and lesbian couples, Opie is a favorite of blue-chip collectors and a faculty member at UCLA’s illustrious art school. The project entails Rodarte’s fall collection, and may or may not be a fully realized campaign. Whatever the case, Opie seems to be tapping into her home turf, enlisting ageless model Jenny Shimizu, as well as many of her nubile art students to model the sisters' dreamy ode to Tex Mex zombies via the Virgin Suicides. We can’t wait!
