At Alexander McQueen, a futuristic tribalism was worked with precision and innovation, and imbued with a female warrior archetype reminiscent of early McQueen. Sarah Burton also cited Mondrian and Lee Miller as influences, but there's no mistaking the battle-ready tribal connotations of horsehair and feather skirts, leather harnesses, and metal armbands and helmets — like a modern-day Boudicca with access to laser-cut technology...
