Christie’s has announced another facet to its epic Collection of Elizabeth Taylor sale. In addition to the three-day auction in December, Christie’s will hold a special online sale (December 3-17) of over 950 pieces of fine and costume jewelry, accessories, and decorative objects owned by the diamond-doting Dame. Items include signed jewels by Cartier, Chanel, and Christian Dior, as well as a myriad of designer handbags and shoes by Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, and Prada, to name just a few.
Currently, fashion e-tailer Moda Operandi has joined Christie’s in hosting a sneak peek of the highlights, while the full online collection will go on view November 18 at Christie’s. Interested parties will be able to place bids beginning December 3. Clearly, for click-happy shoppers and collectors the world over, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to procure treasures cherished by one of Hollywood’s most exquisite legends. Prance around in them at your own peril.
