Emmanuelle Alt, who's got some very spiky shoes to fill and bed head to master, is enjoying her first round of Fashion Weeks as head honcho at Paris Vogue. But it’s not all front rows and air kisses for the newly crowned editrix, as Cathy Horyn notes in the NY Times. Among the usual grumbling comes a gripe from Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani, who doesn't hold any punches when expressing how she feels about stylists helming magazines.
But perhaps most surprising is the revelation that Alt and former editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, who were once the picture of sisterly bliss, snuggling and giggling like front-row besties, are no longer speaking. Speculation is rife, particularly surrounding the suddenness of Roitfeld’s departure, which may not have been as voluntary as it initially seemed (thanks to that Tom Ford issue). This, in turn, may have led to misgivings. Alas, dear Emmanuelle, it’s lonely at the top, but if you're looking to fill that bestie seat, we're really good snugglers.
