For its new fragrance, Wonderwood, Comme des Garçons has created a very enigmatic short film. The featurette, directed by the English duo Brothers Quay, tells the tale of a man who “loved trees more than words could say.” In typical Comme style, this translates into a hallucinogenic stop-motion journey featuring a busy woodpecker, wood sprites, parquet flooring and enchanted acorns set to a haunting soundtrack. We’re still deciphering its meaning and what the scent of “mystical enchantment” might be, but one thing’s for sure: Wonderwood is the best name ever.
