Edun's latest collection, Safari Punk, could very well be the lovechild of Isabel Marant and Roberto Cavalli, a combination of her street smarts and his animal instincts. It's a wild idea.

Which is to say, designer Sharon Wauchob has opted to showcase the line’s roots like never before. It was evident on the runway in both her choice of motifs—leopard spots and zebra stripes, pointing to Edun’s largely Africa-based production—and her era of reference: the ‘80s, communicated by electric-hued minis and baggy leather pants. The Joshua Tree print, too, was surely an homage to the label's founders, Bono and his wife Ali Hewson.

The biggest hits were the structured pieces, including several cinched-waist gilets, a few pleated wool skirts and one bomber, which, just four days into Fashion Month, can already be a trend. It goes to show that oldies are indeed goodies.
