Despite his high-profile Olympic portraits (including Johnny Weir sporting some serious Rodarte-d derriere), Ryan McGinley is still best-known for his youth-y nudes. His latest exhibition at Team Gallery, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, is no exception, featuring an international roster of anonymous models willing to shed their skinnies and hoodies for some very intimate portraits. According to the press release, the images seek to answer one question: “What would a classical Ryan McGinley black and white portrait look like?” The answer varies, but in the artist's purview there's clearly a no-clothes preference. And while a few of the subjects do indeed appear underage, we don't anticipate kiddy crusader Chris Hansen crashing Thursday's opening reception.
