Dior's couture show may be just days away, but that didn't stop a svelte John Galliano from making a cameo at the Ivy in London to announce the next generation of talented young things to compete in Fashion Fringe. The yearly competition skims the crème de la crème of Britain’s upstart designers, providing them with funding to spin out their unique visions. The latest batch, handpicked by Galliano, consists of Alice Palmer, Jade Kang and Corrie Nielsen. Sure, you may be blinking blankly now, but recall that just a few years ago a young designer by the curious name of Erdem Moralioglu took home the prize. With this in mind, the pantheon of British fashion—Kate Moss, Daphne Guinness, Gareth Pugh, Stephen Jones, Amanda Harlech—turned out to size up the competition, who'll duke it out on the runway at the next London Fashion Week.
