Leopard Man

Leopard Man Dies

Thomas Woolridge, better known as Leopard Man, has died of natural causes at the age of 80.

The London-born former soldier covered his body with leopard-spot tattoos and was, for many years, the world’s most tattooed man.

His listing in the Guinness Book of World Records said 99.9% of his body was covered in tattoos of "a leopard-skin design, with all the skin between the dark spots tattooed saffron yellow."

For 20 years, until 2008, he lived in a self-made hut with no electricity or furniture on Scotland's Skye island. "When you're covered in leopard tattoos, you certainly get noticed," he told BBC Scotland. "I became a bit of a tourist attraction on Skye."

He later moved into a retirement home in Inverness, where he died on June 12.
