Inverted Edge

Money Where Your Mouse Is: Inverted Edge

While Seven New York — the underground shop forced to surrender to the endless construction on the Donald Judd Foundation next door — is no more, its founder and buyer Joseph Quartana has found a new outlet for his razor-sharp sensibility. He's the guest fashion and creative director of Inverted Edge, a women's e-tailer that specializes in emerging and established designers out of Asia — whether they live there, work there, studied there, or have Asian origins (including Australia).

"Girls pining over the loss of Seven should have a peeksy!" he says. Absolutely, and they should be prepared to put their money where their mouse is. Because even though it's based in Singapore, Inverted Edge ships globally. Labels include Taiwan's Daydream Nation (schooled at Central St. Martins), Ground Zero (Hong Kong), KTZ (based in Bali — who knew?), Thakoon, Opening Ceremony, and Kaal E. Suktae from Korea.

As Seven was the first in the States to sell Bernhard Willhelm, Gareth Pugh, Haider Ackermann, Juun J, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Peter Pilotto, no doubt Inverted Edge will be just as sharp.
