Hermès has suddenly gotten very techy and Kraftwerky about ties, normally a stodgy topic. In a new haute-art project called 8 Ties, the house challenges, frustrates, yet ultimately rewards viewers for exploring all the nooks and crannies of the digital space, designed by Miguel Chevalier with sound effects by Jacopo Baboni Schilingi.
It being conceptual and all, you'll be clicking for a little while before you see your first tie, then you realize its pattern takes after early 8-bit computers, at which point you're suitably dazzled and not at all frustrated anymore. Needless to say, you can buy the ties, which are hand-cut and stitched in a heavy twill silk.
