Given the frequency with which they appear on the backs of Ed Hardy tees, it's no surprise tigers get a bad sartorial rap these days. Now comes word that a stuffed Bengal variety, used in an Alexander McQueen for Puma campaign last fall, has been seized by Scotland Yard's Wildlife Crime Unit. Reportedly purchased from a German zoo by SHOWstudio's Nick Knight, the large cat was, until recently, up for sale. Authorities claim the photog lacks proper documentation for the endangered species, and have arrested an unnamed man in connection with the alleged crime. This is part of a crackdown on the illegal animal trade bizarrely code-named Operation Charm. Who knew dealing in stuffed animals was such drama? Taxidermy- and roadkill-inspired designers, like this guy, must be feeling rattled.
