![]() Model-turned-jeweler Manon von Gerkan's line of sexy, eye-catching jewelry has been a fashionista and celebrity favorite ever since the ethereal blonde took up metalwork in favor of modeling. We particularly like the cleavage accentuating vertical nameplates, which are just the thing to wear with fall's plunging V-neck sweaters. The line's publicist assures us that the gold fringe crotch-kini can be worn over pants, but why not think of it as filigree for your Brazilian bikini wax instead? A von Gerkan merkin, if you will. Manon Jewelry can be found at Barneys in New York, 660 Madison Avenue, 212-826-8900, and Fred Segal in Los Angeles, 8100 Melrose Avenue, 323-651-4129. |
The brainchild of Dutch designers Gerrit Uittenbogaard and Natasja Martens, Fashion Fugitive is a slick, futuristic site that displays the duo's brand of quirky modernism as evidenced in their stand-out 2001 collection of geometric, asymmetrical tops and dresses, and boxy pants. The clothes embody austere, Helmut Lang-like simplicity, with eccentric detailing (a stiff, rigid collar on a sweatshirt, cut-out knee-length skirts, darted blouses with rolled cuffs). Currently, only the line's accessories are available for sale on the site: we love the pincushion wrist cuffs ($55), as well as the chrome hip necklace-as-belt ($75), |

![]() If you were mad for spring's etoile-inspired prints from Cacharel, fall's must-have quirky graphic is Honore Daumier's La Caricature etching on Alice Roi's poufy silk blouses and 70s-style slouchy dresses. The black-and-white drawing of two Parisians snubbing each other is an amusing comment on fashionista behavior. Buy it so you, too, can say you're in on the joke. Available at Kirna Zabete, 96 Greene Street, New York, 212-941-9656. |
