From moon brides to the marriage of art and fashion,
Hint pays attention to retail

If your body is a canvas, you'll be bent out of shape trying to get your hands on Nicolas Ghesquière's cubist-inspired fall collection for Balenciaga. An homage to Pablo Picasso, Ghesquière's jaunty jumpsuits channel the modern master's ordered disorder and prove, once and for all, that life does imitate art. Barneys New York, 660 Madison Ave. 212-826-8900

Don't hide your bride! Strut down the aisle in this intergalactic beading bonanza by As Four. The flashy foursome offers their vivid vision of a modern bride, dripping from head to toe in plastic paillettes. At $14,444, the double-face duchesse satin dress is built upon a single piece of fabric that wraps around the body using only one seam, going from 2D to 3D. Other custom creations are available by appointment at As Four's Lower East Side atelier: 212-343-9777.

Design team United Bamboo goes back to art school this fall, commissioning six downtown artists to produce original work which will be silk-screened onto limited-edition t-shirts. Along with funky illustrations (our fave is the giant fur ball), the shirts offer advice like "Never Use The Bathroom" and "Take Some Prisoners," making them a savvy study in streetsmart style. Downtowner James Fuentes curates the contributors, which include scenesters DJ Spencer Sweeney and rocker Brian DeGraw. From $125 by private order, 212-925-3311.
